#everytreecounts

We are taking part in #everytreecounts an initiative from the Woodland Trust.

Trees are the ultimate multi-taskers, helping to combat the two environmental emergencies facing our planet: climate change and biodiversity loss. They absorb carbon, fight flooding, reduce pollution, nurture wildlife and make landscapes more resilient. The woods, hedges and green spaces we create buffer existing habitats, tackle climate change and reverse wildlife decline – all at the same time.

November represents the start of the traditional tree planting season and #everytreecounts falls in National Tree Week. We aren't able to plant trees in the  Kingsland Pre-Prep or Chelsea Pre-Prep garden so we are going to plant Spring bulbs in the CPP garden! We will talk to the children about how things grow and why it is important to plant more trees, flowers and plants to help combat.

This also coincides with our dress up day so the theme this Friday is Planet Earth. This means any animals 🦔🦡, climate warriors, recycled costumes, clouds, sun, rainbows, trees or good fun gardeners. We will be digging and planting in the garden so be prepared to get muddy!
