Deputy Head & Designated Safeguarding Lead.As Deputy Head, Miss Lauren, has a dual role of teaching in the classroom as well as looking after key aspects of the running of the school including safeguarding. Lauren lends her outgoing personality and sense of humour to her teaching, encouraging her students to be free thinkers working, learning and playing creatively, having fun all the while in a dynamic and spirited classroom.
Operations.Miss Venetia joined Kingsland at the beginning of the journey in September 2018. With 7 years behind the scenes at Garden House School and a background in Early Childhood Studies, Venetia couldn’t be better suited to the role. As part of the senior management team and an integral part of the KPP office, Venetia ensures the school runs smoothly and although day to day she wears many hats, having fun with the children whilst nurturing strong relationships with parents and staff is what she does best.
Early Years Advisor & Learning Support.Miss Winsy has been with both Kingsland and Chelsea Pre-Prep since their inception, teaching across both first and second years. Winsy now employs her expertise in leadership and research as SENDCO and Early Years Advisor, acting as a bridge between outside agencies and parents as well as offering invaluable support and training to our classroom teachers.
SMT, Teacher.A long standing member of the Rocket Pre-Preps family, Miss Danni returned to the school last year with a new job on her CV - mum! Energetic and nurturing, Danni seamlessly blends her enthusiasm and empathetic nature with a strong academic sense. This ensures that not only is she a firm favourite with her students, who know they can have a cuddle or laugh with her, but she is also a calming presence for parents during assessment time as well as an understanding ear after a sleepless night.
Teacher.Miss Milly moved to Kingsland in 2018 after five years working at Chelsea Pre-Prep where she specialised in supporting children with additional needs. A ray of light and energy, Milly blends creativity and productive play with a wonderful sense of calm, meaning the children in her care are stimulated, happy and supported throughout their time at Kingsland.
Teaching Assistant.After a recent career change, Miss Mel joined the early years world a year ago and we cannot imagine Rocket Pre-Preps without her! She has had experience working across all ages in both our settings. A natural with the children, Mel assists across the classes and is adored by all. Mel always has a smile on her face and injects energy, positivity and kindness into every classroom. Being a mother of a three year old herself, she is more than familiar with what they bring to the party... Miss Mel is currently studying to become a qualified teacher by 2020.
Teacher.Starting her career with Chelsea Pre-Prep as a teaching assistant in 2009, Miss Vicky qualified as a teacher and moved to Kingsland in 2018. With a wealth of teaching experience and a true local to the area she is one of our biggest assets. As a mum herself, Vicky can empathetically support parents through the beginning of their nursery journey, laying an invaluable foundation of confidence and enjoyment in learning for her students.
EAL coordinator, Teacher.Hailing from Ireland, Miss Michelle, came to the school via a 6 year stint in private education in Dubai. Her degree in commerce has gone to good use as an early years teacher, infusing her teaching style with innovation, critical thinking and a unique approach to each child. Thinking outside the box and individuality is a key part of her classroom set up and this shows in the myriad of switched on and curious children that walk out of her class each day.
Teacher.Maria has many years experience both studying and teaching early years across Colombia and now the U.K. Maria spent the last year working at a local private nursery and is very excited to teach at Kingsland.
Miss CarynHealth & Safety Coordinator, Teacher.Having spent the past five years teaching pre-schoolers in Durban, South Africa, Caryn made the leap to London to continue her career in the UK landing at Chelsea Pre-Prep. In 2018, Caryn moved to Kingsland where her enthusiasm for providing a nurturing environment which challenges her students is key to her teaching style. Seeing her students as individuals from the very beginning, Caryn engages conscientiously with each child encouraging them to thrive both academically as well as personally while under her care.
Teacher.A free-spirited force, Miss Sam’s bohemian character perfectly compliments the fresh and dynamic side of Kingsland. She could give Blue Peter’s ‘here’s one I made earlier’ a run for its money as she turns a cardboard box to a masterpiece in seconds or upcycles a bog standard lamp shade into something worthy of the Conran Shop. Montessori trained and with an emphasis on care of the environment you can find Sam in dungarees, paint pot in hand captivating the class.
Teaching Assistant.Monica has had many years teaching experience in South Africa with older children and now works as a Teaching assistant at Kingsland. Her passion and interest has always been in Early Years, hence Monica is also studying alongside to become a fully qualified teacher by 2020.
Teacher.Miss Ilda moved to Kingsland in 2018 as an experienced teacher from Chelsea Pre-Prep. Ilda places huge importance on parent partnership, encouraging families to get involved creatively with their children's nursery life and building a strong relationship between parents and teacher. A kind but firm approach to her teaching, Ilda emboldens her students while offering a protective wing.
Teacher.Bringing the sparkle of her native Emerald Isle to Kingsland, Miss Kim has charmed children, parents and staff alike with her sunny disposition. An expert with our younger children, Kim lends her sweet natured and capricious side to her teaching, giving her students a positive, playful experience everyday and creating an environment where they can really be themselves.
Teacher.Miss Rosy is one of the newest members of our team and has worked locally at another well known private nursery where she taught the 3-4 year olds. After a stint in Australia, Rosy is back and excited to work in a creative environment for children.
